Biological pest control is one of the most important agricultural sustainability tactics and must be part of any crop pest management program.

It is sustainable because it does not cause resistance and even avoids it in areas with insecticide applications or with transgenic plants; it does not pollute the soil, water and ecosystem in general; it does not cause intoxication of farmers, employees and consumers, guaranteeing products of higher quality; has no restrictions on international phytosanitary barriers and, on the contrary, are even preferred or required; the control of a pest often serves others or favors the action of the natural enemies of these, for being selective to them.
